Lion 34 - A Virtual Hobby Store And Coffee House
Lion 34:
Nin.
Artist behind the lion:
Jacques Thibaut (French sculptor).
Adoptive Writer:
The Bluest Butterfly at A Virtual Hobby Store And Coffee Shop.
Blog Description:
There is plenty here for someone looking for inspiration and enjoyment. The person behind this blog is The Bluest Butterfly, who lives in the US. The blog was launched in July 2005 and has grown into something vibrant, full of humour and reflective. The writing is electric. The owner says: "I am interested in people....not just saying that either. Being uniquely you is one of the greatest joys in life....we should all strive for that (it's called self-actualization and few people reach it).
Poem or piece of prose inspired by the lion:
King?
I was here.
Did you love me?
Or bow to Fear?
My spirit roams past this stone.
Looks so like myself.
A monument.
They still stare.
Nails that kept others out.
Nails that trapped me in.
I ruled & roamed.
King of All Except Myself
About the lion's name:
The Bluest Butterfly says:
"With my lion what you see is not always what you get. The statue that you see is truly a monument. It is Nin's spirit that likes to stay near the statue. The water around the statue keeps many people from noticing the presence of Nin's spirit. My name for Nin was inspired by the band Nine-Inch Nails."

That is my poem for Nin. I am happy to have gotten it done...that in itself made me feel good regardless of the contest results. :-)
I am enjoying the writing circle & I am glad to see that a lot of us are visiting each other. :-)
I think that there is a mistake in the listing of people whose poems don't meet the word count requirement. My poem always has been only 45 words...I have recounted it by hand.
I hope everyone is having a fun time writing with their lion. :-)
Thanks Seamus, for taking me off the Please-Edit-Your-Word-Count List. :-)
Sorry BB, shame on me! Sorry sorry sorry. All erased now. I am inundated with sheets of links, figures and names! :)
Hi, would you please pass this note along to Nin? I invite him to come visit me on my new blog, Literary Lion of Lyon. He would probably recognize me from the blog’s title, but tell him Roary sent the invitation. Thanks.
Roary ^..^
:-) Smiles at Roary
Well you asked for the story of our lines.
With my lion what you see is not always what you get. The statue that you see is truly a monument. It is Nin's spirit that likes to stay near the statue. The water around the statue keeps many people from noticing the presence of Nin's spirit. My name for Nin was inspired by the band Nine-Inch Nails.
That's about all that I can say about Nin for now. :-)
Oops....I wrote lines vs. lions up there. I have done that a few times before when I was tired....in posts about this very writing group even. :-)
