What Is This All About ?

The writers gathered here have adopted one of the 48 lions that appeared in "The Lions Of Lyon" series on the writing blog Shameless Words. By adopting a lion, the writers have become a member of this new writing circle. The lions have been posted in the sidebars of the writers' individual blogs, accompanied by a poem or piece of prose. Of course, it is hoped that the strength, luck and prestige of these mighty beasts will rub off on their owners! (Keep scrolling down to see the full listings of all members and their lions).

Lion 22 - Keeper Of The Snails

Lion 22:

Caradoc.

Artist behind the lion:

Frédérique Fleury (French painter and visual artist).

Adoptive Writer:

Clare at Keeper Of The Snails.

Blog Description:

This is the blog of the British writer Clare Dudman, who is best known for her books Wegener's Jigsaw and 98 Reasons For Being. Born in North Wales, Clare has a background in chemistry and teaching; this is what brings her writing and blog to life, with the assured hand of someone who knows how to get a reader interested in fascinating titbits. Her blog covers a diverse range of subjects, often accompanied by powerful images.

Poem or piece of prose inspired by the lion:

Caradoc

Oh look, I glitter. In a warm sun I glint
icicles and diamonds
my wealth dripping from me
then swept away in the wind.

Some say I am king.
But not yet.

One day...

One day I shall roar my words
and all the world will listen.

I like that Clare, Caradoc, was on my shortlist for asking, because of his texture - you've got it down well!

Thanks to you all and thanks to Shameless for your kind words. I like the way the word Caradoc sounds when I say it.

Hi, would you please pass this note along to Caradoc? I invite him to come visit me on my new blog, Literary Lion of Lyon. He would probably recognize me from the blog’s title, but tell him Roary sent the invitation. Thanks.

Roary ^..^
